VentureBeat reports that Unikrn, an e-sports betting startup powered by Blockchain, has been officially licensed for video game gambling. Its application was approved by the Isle of Man on Oct. 23. Rahul Sood, CEO of Unikrn, couldn’t hide his excitement claiming that his company becomes the first regulatory-compliant operator in this niche.
The company can legally expand its business in 20 regions after obtaining the gambling license. They are targeting Europe, Latin America, some Asian countries (it spectator betting won’t be available in the US). Earlier, Unikrn was only able to operate in the UK and Australia, restricting its services to real-money wagering, but now it is also diving into cryptocurrencies, propelling their adoption.
