The real identity of Bitcoin’s elusive creator Satoshi Nakamoto remains a hot topic in the cryptocurrency space (especially, in the wake of the Craig Wright controversy).

Blockstream CEO Adam Back was the latest to weigh in on the matter during the Consensus conference, claiming that Satoshi is an individual, not a group of people.

A lone inventor

There have been countless conspiracy theories about Satoshi, but Back sticks to the ‘mainstream’ narrative that Satoshi is a single person who wrote the famed white paper by himself.

According to Back, this explains why the real identity of the person who started it all hasn’t been revealed yet. It’s hard to keep secrets when a group of individuals is involved.

The cyberpunk vet also pointed out the “continuity in coding and writing style” in Satoshi’s white paper to back up his claim.

“It just seems like something one person would do to me,” he told Crypto Finder.

The hunt continues

As reported by U.Today, crypto baron John McAfee earlier promised to reveal who’s the person who created Bitcoin, but he eventually backpedaled on his promise since he could be extradited to the US.

In contrast to Back, McAfee claimed that Satoshi is a ‘collection of people,’ but the white paper was written by only one man.

Last year, a group of Bitcoin enthusiasts launched a crowdfunding campaign to hire high-profile private detectives that would help them #FindSatoshi.
