Sogni AI, the decentralized creative-AI platform, announced its sponsorship of an international student hackathon alongside Base and Virtuals Protocol, to be hosted by Blockchain@NTU, a student group at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. Taking place from August 16–26th, the virtual hackathon invites students worldwide to build real-world apps and solutions using Base, Virtuals Protocol, or Sogni AI SDK.
With over $4,500 in prizes, the ten-day event provides participants with an opportunity to build solutions at the forefront of decentralized AI and Web3 application development. Registration is now open via Luma.
Participants can develop projects using Sogni SDK, a high-performance toolkit that enables AI image generation and fast parallel rendering—supporting up to 512 simultaneous generations via Sogni’s decentralized GPU network. The SDK is designed to support a wide range of applications, including generative bots, content management plugins, and full-stack creative suites. One notable example is Sogni’s vibe-coded photobooth, built entirely on the SDK.
The hackathon will also integrate tools from Base, an Ethereum L2 incubated by Coinbase, and Virtuals Protocol, a society of AI agents. This partnership provides participants with a full-stack framework for building secure, scalable, and composable applications onchain.
Aligned with its mission to promote open-source AI development, Sogni is allocating up to 25 million SOGNI tokens in rendering credits through a forthcoming developer grant program. This will reward innovative applications built using the Sogni SDK, particularly those that push the boundaries of decentralized AI infrastructure.
Applicants are encouraged to submit a one-page concept to dream@sogni.ai for consideration. Selected projects will gain access to rendering resources, community support, and potential funding to further scale their solutions.
“Sogni is committed to creating an open, barrier-free ecosystem for AI development,” said Mauvis Ledford, CTO of Sogni AI. “We believe in equipping builders everywhere with the tools and infrastructure to easily bring their creative visions to life, a win not just for Sogni, but for all creators.”
The event is open to students globally, and participation is encouraged either individually or in teams of up to five. While the hackathon is self-paced and virtual, participants will have access to support channels and community resources throughout the build week.
