Dr. Craig S. Wright, the notorious Australian billionaire, who is known as a self-proclaimed Satoshi Nakamoto, has been granted US copyright registration by the U.S. Copyright Office, Coindesk reports. This is the first government organization that recognizes Craig Wright as Satoshi Nakamoto.

Copyrighting Bitcoin

Wright has been already granted registrations for the Bitcoin white paper. Hence, it is the first government agency to admit that Craig Wright is the real Satoshi. The aforementioned report also states that Wright also plans to copyright Bitcoin Association.

As reported by U.Today, the scandal around Craig Wright turned into a major lawsuit battle that led to Binance and Kraken delisting Bitcoin SV.

A misconception

Wright is yet to prove that he is the real Satoshi. However, the copyright filing doesn’t mean that Wright will be the owner of the Bitcoin white paper.

As per Wikipedia, copyright registration is often confused with the granting of copyright. In a nutshell, you can register whatever you want.
