In an interview that took place at the Swell conference recently, the Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse said that XRP “is very clearly decentralized.” That was a response to numerous allegations that XRP is a centralized asset since the majority of the tokens are frozen in the Ripple’s vault, which fueled opinions that the company may manipulate the coin’s market rate.
Besides, this is a fact that Ripple may freeze any holder’s XRP amount if the person is suspected in money-laundering, terrorism or other illegal activities. Also, XRP cannot be mined.
However, the CEO stated that nobody has the power to control the XRP ledger.
