On Thursday morning, a young woman from Epping was arrested in her own house for allegedly stealing 100,000 XRP coins from a crypto account of an elderly man. The theft took place almost a year ago. Back then, the stolen XRP cost AUD 450,000 but since then the rate dropped to just AUD 45,000.

The 56-year-old man saw that the coins had gone from his wallet after he was unable to access his account for a couple of days. Earlier, he reported, his email account had been compromised. The investigation is underway.

The local police keep warning local citizens against crypto scams. Earlier U.Today reported that Australian scammers had made four immigrants pay $50,000 into a Bitcoin ATM, presenting themselves as tax debt agents.
