Nicehash, Cloud Miner, Gives Back Over Half of Crypto Lost in 2017 Attack

In December, a little less than 5,000 Bitcoins were stolen from Nicehash servers during. Back in 2017, when this cloud mining startup was attacked, at the historical high of BTC prices, the value of the stolen coins was gauged at about $65 mln. After the incident, the crypto market collapsed with BTC quotes dropping almost 80 percent.

The Slovenian police are still working on the case. The local law enforcement agencies, cooperating with them, say that cyber crimes take longer to solve than regular ones, since hackers as a rule act from abroad and are skilled at concealing their real identities.
