China’s clampdown on cryptocurrencies continues with the country’s leading search engine Baidu removing all crypto-oriented information from Baidu Tieba. From now on, the dejected local crypto community is essentially shut out from the largest communication platform in China.
Baidu Tieba, a Chinese version of Reddit, deleted all publications as well as all sub-forums related to digital currencies, according to a local media outlet China Times. However, the tech giant admits that these measures will not produce a desirable effect since Chinese crypto enthusiasts tend to use overseas means of communication in the likes of Telegram.
Last week, China also blocked a slew of offshore exchanges.
