John McAfee is a programmer and entrepreneur, founder of McAfee Associates, creator of the first commercial antivirus software. He is a political activist and very strong supporter of cryptocurrency.
Until early 2020, McAfee was one of the most prominent BTC fans. In July 2017, he made a bet that a few years later Bitcoin would be worth $1 mln. He promised he would eat his penis if that prediction failed to take place.
In 2020, McAfee shocked the community by saying that he did not consider Bitcoin the best cryptocurrency. Being on the run from the US IRS for avoiding tax payments for eight years, he also took part in the presidential campaign for the US elections in 2020 as a candidate but in the same year he quit.
