Jack McDonald, Ripple SVP of Stablecoins, will be in Brooklyn this week for the RWA Summit, according to a recent X post. The Real World Asset Summit will be held in Brooklyn from September 1 to 2, with McDonald named as a speaker.
The Ripple senior vice president will appear alongside notable speakers including Jeremy Allaire, Circle CEO; Hayden Adams, Uniswap Labs CEO; Ethereum cofounder Joseph Lubin; Carlos Domingo, Securitize CEO; BlackRock's Samara Cohen and Sonali Theisen from Bank of America; and several others.
On day two of the event, McDonald will be part of a panel discussion tagged "Going Global" alongside Emily Parker of Global Blockchain Business Council, Subhankar Sinha of STOKR, and Austin Campbell of Zero Knowledge Group as moderator.
The Ripple SVP hinted at what he will be discussing at the event: the growing global adoption of stablecoins.
"Brooklyn this week for rwasummit discussing stablecoin adoption going global," McDonald wrote, signaling that Ripple USD (RLUSD) stablecoin will be an important part of the discussion, "RLUSD front and center of the action."
RLUSD attains fresh milestones
In a separate post, McDonald said the RLUSD monthly independent attestation is now available. He shared some late-summer highlights from the report.
RLUSD crossed $2 billion for the first time in August, with over $1 billion issued on the XRP Ledger alone. McDonald highlighted that this milestone came in less than two years since the RLUSD launch, adding that Ripple remains "very excited about what's ahead."
Ripple made strategic investments in ZILO and Licuido to expand digital capital markets infrastructure on the XRP Ledger, with RLUSD serving as the regulated cash leg for transactions involving tokenized assets.
In exchange news, Bybit launched Phase 2 of its RLUSD Hold & Earn program after surpassing $50 million in assets under custody in just 11 days.
Ripple joined Clearpool and Cicada Partners to bring institutional lending to the XRP Ledger, using RLUSD as the credit asset for loans to fintechs, payments companies, and other businesses.
Ripple, Mercy Corps Ventures, BlockBima, and Fortune Credit also put RLUSD to work in Kenya, helping small businesses access insurance and credit faster and more efficiently, leading to a 97% reduction in settlement time at 3,000x lower cost.
