Gemini is expanding its XRP offering in Singapore, according to a Monday announcement.
allowing local users to deposit and withdraw XRP directly over the XRP Ledger (XRPL), according to Gemini CEO Tyler Winklevoss.
"Big news for the Ripple Army in Asia," Winklevoss wrote on X on August 25, announcing the new functionality for Gemini users in Singapore.
Gemini already operates a broad crypto platform in Singapore. Its customers can fund accounts in Singapore dollars and trade and store more than 70 cryptocurrencies.
Warming up to XRP
The exchange has substantially expanded its support for XRP-related products, while Winklevoss himself has become increasingly visible in promoting the asset.
In July, for instance, Gemini added XRP as cross-collateral for derivatives trading. It allowed users to use XRP alongside assets including BTC, Ether, USDT and GUSD.
Gemini and Ripple launched an XRP edition of the Gemini Credit Card. The card offered users the ability to earn rewards in XRP, including up to 4% back on eligible purchases such as gas, EV charging and rideshare spending.
Gemini said the decision to expand its XRP offering was due to strong performance from rewards: users who had held their XRP rewards for at least a year saw them increase by 453%.
Back in August, Winklevoss joked that Gemini would give Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse a "whale limit" on his XRP edition credit card.
On November 5, Winklevoss called on the "XRP Army" to trade XRP perpetual contracts on Gemini in Europe.
In December 2025, the exchange announced that RLUSD, Ripple’s dollar-backed stablecoin, could be deposited and withdrawn over XRPL.
Back in 2020, however, Winklevoss was feuding with XRP Army members, slamming them as "dumb trolls." In March 2025, he said that he had "nothing against XRP, SOL, or ADA," but argued that none of them met his standard for inclusion in a strategic crypto reserve.
