Enterprise blockchain company Ripple continues to deviate from its longstanding routine when it comes to XRP unlockings.

The company typically unlocks a billion tokens from escrow on the first day of the month.

This pattern has been maintained for years since late 2017. However, since March, Ripple has started releasing the tokens at a later date.

As reported by U.Today, the new release schedule was first introduced in March. This marked the first time that Ripple created new escrows from the company's existing XRP holdings instead of unlocking new tokens.

Ripple then followed the same pattern in April and May, with Ripple opting to release one billion tokens at a later date.

As reported by U.Today,  670 million XRP tokens were locked in escrow on June 1. This coincided with the token celebrating its 13th anniversary.

In other news, Ripple recently confirmed that it would stop publishing monthly XRP reports, opting for sporadic social media updates and blog posts instead.

In its last quarterly report, Ripple revealed that it holds 4.5 billion XRP tokens. On top of that, 37.1 billion tokens were locked in the company's escrow wallets as of March 31.
