A crucial Shiba Inu ecosystem update has been issued to the SHIB community as Mazrael, a Shiba Inu community veteran, issued a fresh reminder regarding legacy domains that are no longer maintained by the project.
In a recent post, Mazrael shared a reminder to Shiba Inu users that legacy domains have been decommissioned and that Shib.io is the primary portal to the Shiba ecosystem, ShibaSwap and Shibarium, urging them to stay safu, a slang term used in the crypto market for "safe" or "secure."
This information also applies to the domain of ShibTheMetaverse, a virtual world backed by the Shiba Inu ecosystem, with Mazrael sharing this in a separate X post.
In a heads-up to the Shiba Inu community, Mazrael shared that the ShibTheMetaverse domain is no longer owned or managed by the Shib wizards and may be purchased or used by a third party.
The warning by the Shiba Inu community veteran remains essential as it would help SHIB users avoid interacting with websites that could falsely portray themselves as official Shiba Inu domains. SHIB legacy domains should no longer be relied upon for accessing official Shiba Inu services.
Crucial advisory issued
Mazrael issued an advisory for Shiba Inu users that remains necessary for their security: they should not assume that any future content on the ShibTheMetaverse domain is affiliated with the SHIB ecosystem.
"For your security, please do not assume that any future content on that domain is affiliated with the SHIB ecosystem," Mazrael stated.
Mazrael added that when Shib: The Metaverse returns, it is expected to be accessible through Shib.io rather than a separate additional domain.
This security warning urges SHIB users to rely solely on the Shib.io website as the official gateway to the ecosystem and to be cautious of unofficial websites that could emerge following the decommissioning of legacy domains. It also emphasizes the importance of verifying official links before connecting wallets, signing transactions, or inputting sensitive information.
