With the number of active users surpassing 500,000, XRP Ledger activity has returned to levels that appeared increasingly challenging to reach just weeks ago. While not all network metrics are going in the same direction, the increase coincides with a more general increase in transaction activity

XRP Ledger sets new baselines

The most recent XRPL network data indicates that there were about 500,300 active users, which is an increase of 187.1% over the period. Other account-related indicators are still much weaker, which makes the jump especially noteworthy. Newly created accounts fell 34.6% to 1,400, while active accounts fell 26.9% to about 10,100.

This divergence implies that increased activity rather than a large-scale surge in the creation of new accounts is the main cause of the most recent increase. Transaction data backs up that conclusion. Successful transactions rose 48.4% to roughly 1.5 million, while total transactions increased 36% to 1.7 million.

Additionally, payments rose to 705,100, a 53.5% increase. In the meantime, the number of transactions per ledger increased by 131.2% to 140.26, suggesting that each closed ledger was packed with significantly more activity. However, over the course of the measurement period, the network closed fewer ledgers.

The average ledger interval increased by 1.6% to 3.92 seconds, but the number of closed ledgers decreased by 41.2% to 12,100. These numbers help explain why the number of transactions per ledger has grown significantly more quickly than the total number of transactions.

Multiple sources of activity

Another counterbalance to the otherwise impressive activity figures is provided by value-transfer metrics. While XRP burned as transaction fees dropped 32.4% to 189.2 XRP, payment volume fell 17.8% to roughly 245.2 million XRP. As a result, the XRPL environment is mixed but becoming more active: there are significantly more users and transactions, but there are fewer newly created accounts and a lower overall payment volume.

The recent price breakout is being consolidated by XRP itself. After rising from about $1.00 and momentarily reaching about $1.70, the token is currently trading close to $1.40.

Importantly, XRP is still above its $1.35 long-term moving average. An RSI of about 73 indicates that momentum is still high and strong. The breakout structure would be maintained if $1.35–$1.40 were held, but another push above $1.50 might reopen the route to the most recent $1.70 peak.
