The price swing in XRP, which saw the token reprice by more than 40% amid a push toward $1.50, has triggered unexpected changes in the on-chain economy of AI agents emerging on the XRP Ledger.
According to the XRPL AI Hub dashboard, the settled volume of AI agents in Ripple USD increased by 103% over seven days, reaching 135.99 tokens. Meanwhile, transaction volume in the native XRP token fell by 6% to 214.10 tokens.
In absolute terms, XRP still holds the lead. At the current price of $1.41, turnover in the native token amounts to approximately $300, compared with $130 in the stablecoin.

However, the twofold jump in RLUSD reveals the logic of the bots: the algorithms are simply hedging their budgets against the market volatility and moving into a stable, dollar-denominated asset in advance. For AI scripts processing thousands of transactions per second, a surge in the price of XRP becomes a direct expense that simply does not fit within predefined API and server budget limits.
Although RLUSD volumes still lag behind XRP in dollar terms, the total number of transactions in the AI sector increased by 51% over seven days to 378,720 operations. Autonomous systems did not reduce their activity, but simply began diversifying their payment currency by increasing the dollar's share.
Ripple's stablecoin as a safety cushion
The historical Total Settled chart for the past month confirms that AI service integration followed a linear trajectory until Aug. 19. The change in the curve's slope and the acceleration in volume growth coincided with the beginning of the XRP rally.
Although this economy still operates with only a few hundred dollars in absolute terms, the situation represents an important technical precedent.
It appears that RLUSD integration can serve as an effective protective mechanism, helping autonomous systems continue operating even during periods of strong volatility in the underlying crypto asset.
