GoMining has partnered with Uphold to integrate the company's Platform as a Service (PaaS), a move designed to support the continued expansion of its Bitcoin ecosystem while streamlining access to regulated digital asset services.

The integration will initially benefit users in the United States, enabling GoMining to offer cryptocurrency buying, selling and custody through its existing mobile and web applications without requiring customers to leave the platform.

GoMining says the partnership supports its broader goal of expanding beyond Bitcoin mining into a more comprehensive ecosystem for Bitcoin-related financial services.

Expanding beyond Bitcoin mining

GoMining launched with a focus on making Bitcoin mining more accessible to retail users through its digital mining product, which allows participants to earn Bitcoin rewards without operating physical mining hardware.

Since then, the platform has broadened its offerings to include services such as recurring Bitcoin purchases and staking, as it seeks to increase participation in the wider Bitcoin economy.

According to the company, its platform now serves approximately five million users worldwide.

"GoMining has evolved beyond our original goal of democratising access to Bitcoin mining to become a platform that supports payments, education and other Bitcoin ecosystem products in one easy-to-use app," said GoMining CEO Mark Zalan. "Partnering with Uphold's battle-tested platform enables us to continue our sustainable global growth."

Leveraging regulated infrastructure

Rather than building its own compliance, licensing and custody infrastructure, GoMining chose to integrate Uphold's existing platform.

The company said developing these capabilities independently and obtaining the necessary regulatory approvals across multiple jurisdictions would likely have taken several years.

Through the API integration, Uphold will provide a range of back-end services, including account creation, funding, cryptocurrency trading and custody. The platform will also manage operational functions such as Know Your Customer (KYC) verification, Anti-Money Laundering (AML) compliance, fraud prevention and asset custody.

While these services are powered by Uphold, GoMining will continue to own the customer relationship. Users will access the new functionality through GoMining's existing interface without interacting directly with Uphold.

GoMining cited several factors behind its decision to partner with Uphold, including faster time to market, the platform's licensing footprint in both the United States and the United Kingdom, and its payment processing capabilities.

The company also highlighted Uphold's ability to support future product launches as additional services become available through the infrastructure provider.

According to Uphold, its platform connects to more than 30 centralized and decentralized trading venues. By sourcing liquidity across multiple markets, the company aims to optimize pricing and execution quality for enterprise partners and their customers.

Building broader Bitcoin ecosystem

The agreement reflects a growing trend among crypto companies to rely on specialized infrastructure providers rather than developing every operational component internally.

By outsourcing regulated functions such as compliance, custody and trading infrastructure, companies can focus on product development and customer experience while accelerating the rollout of new services.

For GoMining, the partnership supports its ambition to evolve from a Bitcoin mining platform into a broader Bitcoin-focused financial ecosystem encompassing payments, investing and educational products.

As the company continues to expand its feature set, the Uphold integration provides a scalable infrastructure layer that can support future offerings while allowing GoMining to maintain a unified user experience across its applications.
