Ripple's XRP escrow program, with its long history, might be reaching an end. There are now predictions about when the rest of the supply might hit the market. Based on the latest trends and updated forecasts, the remaining 36.4 billion XRP in escrow could be released completely in as little as six years.

The latest projection comes from XRPwallets, a well-followed community member, which laid out a few potential scenarios.

If Ripple keeps up the current pace of releasing 300 million XRP each month, it'll take around 10 years to run out of the full escrow. But if the release rate goes up to 400 million XRP a month starting in 2026, the timeline drops to 7.5 years.

In a more aggressive case — where the monthly unlock gradually increases by 100 million XRP per year from 2026 onward — the escrows could be fully drained in just six years. There's also a chance Ripple might stop relocking any part of the monthly 1 billion XRP allowance, which would speed up the release cycle a lot.

This change in strategy became clearer earlier this week, when Ripple finished its July escrow cycle in two stages — unlocking 500 million XRP on July 1 and another 500 million on July 4.

Of the full 1 billion XRP unlocked, 700 million was relocked, while 300 million is now circulating — destined for utilities like ODL services, ETPs and infrastructure development.

The way we think about this is changing, too. Ripple isn't playing it safe and doing the same old thing of unlocking a set amount and then locking the rest. Instead, it's using XRP when the market is ready and there's demand for the product.
