Over $7 Bln Bitcoin Traded on Presidents Day

Yesterday was Presidents Day, an American holiday where government offices, schools and most workplaces are closed- this includes banks, investment houses and stock exchanges. But while American markets took the day off, over $7 bln in Bitcoin was traded. While the stock market and banks are closed on holidays and subject to obscure hours and closure on weekends, the market for cryptocurrencies is open 24/7.
