Bitget, the world's largest Universal Exchange (UEX), has expanded its CFD infrastructure with the launch of Sub-Accounts for CFD trading. The feature is aimed at professional traders, proprietary trading firms and high-net-worth users who need to manage several trading strategies without mixing their positions and risk exposure.

The new system allows users to operate multiple independent MT5 accounts under one primary Bitget account. Each sub-account has its own MT5 ID, meaning positions, orders and execution activity can remain separated even when different strategies are being operated simultaneously.

The approach is particularly relevant to traders using Expert Advisors (EAs) and other automated systems. Running several models through a single trading account can make it harder to distinguish performance, margin consumption and individual strategy risk. Separate MT5 environments provide a way to organize those activities more clearly.

How Bitget CFD sub-accounts work

Users can create up to five CFD sub-accounts by default, with each one operating independently from the others. The sub-accounts inherit the main account's KYC and risk-control status, so users do not have to repeat the verification process every time they establish a new trading environment.

This structure can be useful when strategies have different objectives or risk parameters. One account, for example, can be dedicated to an automated strategy, while another can be used for discretionary trading or a separate portfolio approach.

The separation also extends to execution. Positions and trading activity remain associated with their respective MT5 accounts rather than being combined into one account-level position structure.

At the same time, Bitget has kept overall administration centralized. The main account acts as the control center for its CFD sub-accounts. From a single dashboard, users can monitor metrics including equity, margin ratios and order histories across their different accounts.

Password management is also handled centrally. The main account can reset both trading and read-only passwords associated with its sub-accounts, reducing the need to manage each MT5 environment independently.

Risk notifications remain account-specific. Margin calls and liquidation alerts are delivered through the email addresses and app notifications associated with the relevant sub-account, allowing users to respond to problems affecting a particular strategy without having to monitor every account manually.

For professional traders operating multiple automated systems, this combination of separation and centralized oversight is one of the feature's main advantages.

Built for more complex trading operations

The introduction of Sub-Accounts comes as Bitget continues expanding its CFD offering beyond conventional retail trading.

CFDs allow traders to gain exposure to traditional financial markets through derivative contracts, while MT5 is widely used for automated strategies and algorithmic trading. Combining the two creates a setup in which professional users can run different approaches without consolidating all positions into a single trading environment.

This distinction becomes increasingly important as the number of strategies increases. Different systems may have different entry rules, holding periods, leverage requirements and tolerance for drawdowns. Keeping them in separate accounts makes it easier to evaluate their performance independently and identify where capital and margin are being used.

“Professional traders often run several strategies at the same time, and managing all of them can get complicated very quickly,” said Gracy Chen, CEO of Bitget. “Sub-Accounts enable users to keep those strategies separate while managing them from one place.”

The feature is therefore less about adding another trading instrument and more about improving the infrastructure around CFD activity.

Part of Bitget's Universal Exchange strategy

Bitget has increasingly expanded beyond its original cryptocurrency exchange business as part of its Universal Exchange strategy. Its CFD offering is one element of this broader push into traditional financial markets.

The Sub-Accounts feature fits that strategy by providing more sophisticated account infrastructure for users trading traditional-asset exposure alongside their existing digital-asset activity.

For retail users, a single trading account may be sufficient. Professional traders, however, can have substantially more complicated requirements. They may operate multiple automated systems, manage separate portfolios or need to isolate strategies for performance and risk-management purposes.

By allowing those activities to operate through independent MT5 accounts while retaining centralized control, Bitget is addressing a practical operational issue rather than simply expanding its product list.
