A recently published YouGov cryptocurrency poll shows that 79 percent of Americans are familiar with digital assets. Bitcoin (BTC) is the most popular virtual asset  (71 percent of American of the poll participants know about this currency). The study also shows that women tend to be more ignorant about cryptocurrencies than men with.

It is worth mentioning that an overwhelming majority (87 percent) of those who are aware of Bitcoin’s existence never actually interacted with the currency. 34 percent of Americans are certain that BTC won’t see mainstream adoption at least in 10 years. On the flip side, nearly the same amount of the respondents (36 percent) claim that they would be ready to use Bitcoin instead of the US dollar (this figure increases to 48 percent with American millennials).
