Vitalik Buterin’s Mother Raises Blockchain Awareness for Women through Her CryptoChicks Startup
Like father, like son, the popular saying goes. In the case of Ethereum, it would be correct to say ‘like Vitalik Buterin, like his mother’.
The person who gave birth to one of the person who created the second largest coin in the market, also turns out to be engaged in the same sort of business.
Her role looks wider than merely Ethereum’s though – through the CryptoChicks startup Natalia Ameline co-founded she raises awareness of blockchain and crypto on a global scale.
Bringing the ‘crypto gospel’ to peoples
While speaking to Coindesk, Natalia said that her company has already arranged educational programs in the DLT sphere starting in Pakistan and ending in Canada and have taught over 600 students and future software developers.
Besides, CryptoChicks collaborates with another educational firm, Blockgeeks, that was founded by Vitalik’s father Dmitry Buterin, whom Natalia divorced in the past. Together they present to the world educational programs on anything to do with DLT, crypto, smart contracts and even basics of business. There were also separate programs to teach coding to women.
More women wanted in blockchain
In the past, CryptoChicks received sponsorship from such giants as Microsoft, the Royal Bank of Canada and IBM. It does not take any money from Ethereum itself. Ameline told Coindesk that the company is focusing on bringing more women into the blockchain space:
CryptoChicks also takes part in numerous hackathons.
