Exactly 10 years ago the web domain Bitcoin.org was registered and the whitepaper of the ”father of all crypto coins” came out.
The “Bitcoin father”
Despite the fact that the real person known as Satoshi Nakamoto has never been actually found or his real name made public, his contribution to embodying the idea of digital decentralization was the foundation. Besides, basically thanks to the appearance of Bitcoin the current crypto market exists.
To avoid seizing the site by any centralized authority, the scheme of the domain’s owning is built in such a manner that it includes community members who have nothing to do with the original BTC developers. As for the site’s original goal– to educate users about Bitcoin and push it towards a wide embracement– it remains the same.
Bitcoin.org
The code of the site is open and can be checked by anyone. Any activities regarding the web-resource are made only through a public pull request. Thus, Bitcoin.org maintenance is conducted by the community, it is crowdsourced. Translation work is conducted by numerous contributors around the globe.
Bitcoin.org also was a vigorous opponent to the SegWit2x hardfork.
