Ripple’s cofounder Chris Larsen has made it to an annual Forbes 400 list, sitting in the 383rd place with a net worth of $2.1 bln. This is a historic achievement because no one before Larson would appear on the list with a fortune that solely consists of crypto. Larsen has about 5.19 bln XRP tokens, so his own wealth is inextricably connected to their value.

While it’s still a huge success, the fact that Larsen’s riches have shrunk by over $5 bln in merely ten months vividly declares the steep decline of the cryptocurrency market (he was worth $7.5 bln back in January). During the market peak in December, Larsen’s net worth reached a staggering $20 bln.

Notably, Ripple’s CEO Brad Garlinghouse didn’t make it to the list despite his net worth reaching $9.5 bln in January.
