July 25th, AngelHack launched Qtum Hackathon 2018. This is a global virtual event for developers of decentralized applications (DApps) from various countries.

The Hackathon program

By mid-September 2018 people of various skills, like developers and designers, will have to get into teams of up to five members and create new startups from scratch, based on Qtum’ payment, smart contracts or any other element. Those will have to be DApps for the Qtum Blockchain platform.

Qtum plans to perform three webinars- in July, August and September- in order to give the participants the necessary guidance and later on provide them with feedback on how they are doing on the contest. All demo versions of the new apps will have to be submitted by September 16th, and then the judges will look at them within four days.

The judges’ panel includes top managers of the Qtum Foundation and founders of other famous startups, like PlayCoin, Andoromeda, etc.

Qtum expects to see new solutions in the sphere of Blockchain apps that might change the world in the future.

Prizes

The best-performing 10 teams will win an award of $484,000 equivalent in QTUM coins and also they will receive funds for three people for traveling and lodging to Devcon 2018 that is to take place in San Francisco.

Those developers who will receive honorable mentions, will be able to win extra $50,000 of QTUM tokens.
