Commercial cryptocurrency mining could soon be illegal in the city of Plattsburgh, New York. The mayor of Plattsburgh has bemoaned mining, saying it “has increased our power usage and ...is affecting our ratepayers.” One Bitcoin miner spoke with the local newspaper, suggesting that concerns should be addressed, but a full ban eschewed.
