Ledger Wallet Offers Mobile Operations, Improving Nano X with Bluetooth
On 6 January, during Consumer Electronics Show that took place in Las Vegas, Ledger reps presented an updated version of their Nano X crypto wallet which includes a Bluetooth feature.
Ledger is making customers happy
The new feature allows using the Nano X model with wallets installed on mobile gadgets. This has long been a problem for the numerous users of the Ledger S wallet. Now they have got what they have longed for, having joined the club of mobile crypto users that are dominating the crypto market. A lot fewer people store their crypto on their PCs or laptops, as per statistics.
The news that Ledger Nano X is now enhanced with a Bluetooth feature gives the wallet and its users wider opportunities for operating their virtual coins. Currently, the price for the new model has not been announced, sales have not started yet.
However, the CEO of Ledger, Eric Larchevêque, said in an interview that when the new model launches, the Nano S model will drop in price. So far, the company has sold nearly 1.5 mln hardware wallets.
Apart from Bluetooth added, the new model offers users a bigger screen, which is important since many operations have to be done on the gadget itself.
The new Ledger wallet is going to launch in online shops in over a week, January 16.
Numerous apps inside
The new Ledger model can also boast a larger amount of memory. Memory here is necessary for ensuring that the device stores various apps with numerous crypto protocols. This ensures that a user cannot accidently transfer coins to a random wallet. For each coin he/she stores, there is a separate app (working on a separate protocol) for operations with sending and receiving crypto assets.
For this purpose, Ledger keeps lots of developers on its payroll who create apps for the company, which its customers use.
The Nano X version of the app can hold 100 apps maximum, which is six times more than a Nano S device does.
Recent Ledger milestones
Throughout 2018, Ledger wallet has been adding support for new coins. E.g., as U.Today reported lately, one of the most recent coins that Ledger added was Decred, which is crypto asset #33 on the Coinmarketcap’s top-50 list. At press time, the coin is trading at $19.37 after nearly a 5-percent rise.
Besides, in the near future Ledger also intends to introduce the Sapling upgrade, provided by the ZCash platform.
