Bitcoin, the flagship cryptocurrency, appeared almost 10 years ago, which is definitely a reason for a small celebration. On the cusp of Bitcoin’s tenth anniversary, a group of artists from all over the world will hold a crypto art exhibition in Paris.

Bitcoin Art (r)Evolution

The exhibition, dubbed Bitcoin Art (r)Evolution, is poised to become the world’s first global art event fully devoted to Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. The artists will illustrate the major symbols behind the digital revulsion, which is similar to the dot-com craze. The primal focus of this exhibition is to increase the general public’s awareness of virtual currencies and demonstrate their potential. On the flip side, some artists will reportedly try to hide Bitcoin in their artwork.

The names of the artists who will be featured during the show include Andy Bauch, Josephine Bellini, Mark Bern and others. A French artist Pascal Boyart, who is the organizer of this exhibition, states that Paris could potentially become the capital of a new “artistic movement” that unites crypto and art.

Blockchain could change the art industry

Another goal of this exhibition is to discover what benefits Blockchain technology can bring to the art industry. As U.Today reported earlier, Blockchain is capable of tackling the main problems of the luxury market by eliminating counterfeiting and implanting transparent pricing.

The official site of Bitcoin Art (r)Evolution states that that the distributed ledger technology can also disrupt the world of art by changing the way artists interact with the audience. It may potentially cut out the middleman and free artists from all the restrictions imposed by the banking system.

Notably, the audience will be able to buy any work of art directly with Bitcoin or other available altcoins.

The much-anticipated exhibition will take place from Sept. 28 to Oct. 5.
