The Philippine SEC is reportedly planning to introduce cryptocurrency regulations in the nearest future, following the example of the US and Switzerland. The exact date when a new legislative framework for crypto is going to be revealed is unknown, but one of SEC commissioners states that the draft will ‘hopefully’ be already revealed in the upcoming weeks. However, these guidelines won’t be finalized until the end of 2018.
On top of that, the watchdog will present ICO regulations as early as next week. This legislative effort is aimed to provide enterprises with an opportunity to safely raise capital through crowdfunding.
