The Smart Dubai office set up and headed by the Crown Prince is introducing open ledger into the app for retail payments for smartphones called DubaiPay.
All types of payments will now be available in the real-time mode. Blockchain will help the local Finance Ministry to supervise reconciliations, refunds, etc, made through DubaiPay. The app has almost 30 governmental agencies linked to it.
More of them are going to join the network later, such as the Dubai Police, Dubai Airports and Customs, etc. Dubai considers Blockchain one of the technologies with the highest potential in the future.
