According to Bloomberg, Blockchain start-up Circle has purchased a major equity crowdfunding company SeedInvest for an undisclosed sum of money.
SeedInvest is a platform that allows private companies start-ups to raise money online, thus connecting start-ups and investors in a seamless way. Hence, entrepreneurs could focus on further developing their businesses instead of spending too much time on fundraising efforts. By acquiring SeedInvest, Circle also wants to occupy this niche with an emphasis on cryptocurrencies.
Circle CEO Jeremy Allaire claims he wants to change the way businesses raise capital, adding that crypto securities will soon be a major category of securities.
