In a major milestone, the Cardano Foundation has announced a partnership with the Brazilian Olympic Committee (COB). The Cardano Foundation revealed this information in a recent tweet.
The partnership seeks to explore the potential of emerging technologies, such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), blockchain, and the Internet of Things (IoT), to strengthen sports management, increase institutional transparency, and create new opportunities for engagement with athletes, coaches, and fans.
In addition to technological possibilities, the collaboration foresees actions aimed at disseminating knowledge and developing skills related to the universe of digital transformation.
The initiative will see the creation of a three-year roadmap structured around four key areas, including Identity and certification; Fan engagement; Equipment tracking; Governance and transparency.
The Cardano Foundation stated it began the process with the first executive workshop last week, and institutional pilots are expected to follow next.
In other partnership news, the University of Zurich has announced a new collaboration with Input Output Group's Lace Wallet, making it the official wallet for students enrolled in its "Deep Dive into Blockchain" program, and all future Cardano-related educational content.
Cardano hard fork nears
The Hard Fork Working Group has decided to defer the van Rossem hard fork initiation governance action on mainnet, pending PreProd Testnet hard fork and community testing.
A revised mainnet submission now targets June 8, with a go-no-go decision scheduled with the desire to submit then after the epoch boundary. If submitted on June 8, the potential mainnet hard fork dates would be June 23, 28, and July 3, 8, 13, 18. These potential dates are dependent on DRep, SPO and CC ratification.
The PreProd hard fork initiation action is now expected to be ratified on June 5, with enactment on June 10.
In addition to Ogmios, a hard fork compatible release of Kupo is now available, also hosted under the Intersect's repositories as an interim measure.
