Research by Bitcoin Patent Report reveals that in the past nine years, over 2,000 patents have been filed for Blockchain technologies. Surprisingly, the leader among the top ten patent-filing companies is Bank of America. Bank of America has filed 45 patents since Bitcoins first block was mined in 2009.
