Businesses around the globe are overwhelmingly recognizing the potential of Blockchain. According to a new study, Alibaba and IBM are in the lead in their number of Blockchain patents with 90 and 89 applications respectively.

Mastercard (80) and Bank of America (53) are also striving not to lag behind their competitors as Blockchain adoption grows despite the bearish market sentiment. Back in February, Bank of America was the leader among top ten patent filing companies.

People's Bank of China occupies the fifth place with 44 applications.
