Reports from South Korea suggest that government officials have de facto been banned from holding and trading cryptocurrency. It is a blanket ban that affects even those whose jobs has nothing to do with digital currencies.
The ban affects all civil servants, and as reported, the officials are to “refrain from holding and trading virtual currency even if there is no job relevance.”

The consequences of being caught engaging in cryptocurrency activities, which contravene ‘civil servants law,’ could lead to disciplinary measures, although this punishment is not defined.
