Japan’s FSA Initiates Emergency Checks of Zaif After Hackers’ ‘Visit’

Japanese papers are buzzing that the Financial Service Agency, the top local regulator, is inspecting the platform following yesterday’s hack. For the context, almost 5,970 BTC were appropriated by the hackers, that is $60 mln. Two-thirds of this amount was stolen from customers’ vaults.

The FSA urgently made an inspection of Zaif’s office in Osaka on Thursday to make sure the situation fits the description. The FSA also took a deep look at the security system of Zaif.

Besides, the watchdog set off with unplanned inspections of several other local crypto exchanges.
