ICON’s technological partner ICONLOOP gets selected for a Blockchain program conducted by the government of South Korea. It is, reportedly, arranged by two large Korean scientific institutes. Besides, ICON (ICX) itself is often called the local competitor of Ethereum.

The purpose of the event is to improve the national competitiveness of South Korea regarding innovative technologies.

When the news was released, ICX responded by spiking over 20 percent to $0.96 and then correcting its rate down to $0.87– this is the current price of the coin, according to CoinMarketCap.com.
