In a recent advertisement for its “Call Screen” service, Google ridiculed miners on their high electricity consumption and then said that cryptocurrency “isn’t real money.”

It starts with one of the characters in the video add receiving a message from his electricity provider that says his bill is very high. “Well, cryptocurrency mining takes a lot of energy,” the character says. “Cryptocurrency… that money isn’t real,” the other character answers.

Earlier this year, Google banned all cryptocurrency related ads. Later, however, it relaxed the rules for the U.S. and Japan.
