A recent TechCrunch report states that China is gradually increasing its leverage over the US tech market because of the rising popularity of cryptocurrencies and Blockchain. 

Blockchain technology served as a catalyst for rapidly developing investment ties between the two hemispheres. While Asia is pouring money into the US, American funds are also seizing the opportunity by shifting their focus on the eastern market. 

In both Asia and America, crypto began peaking up steam during the same period of time, but Asia became a dominant force in this niche because of swift regulatory actions.
