The Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) is looking to eliminate consensus for decision making on a Blockchain. Last Thursday, the US Patent and Trademark Office published a 2016 filing from the CME where the CME requests the ability to modify the rules on a Blockchain without requiring every node and miner to vote.
