Chinese Hacker Offers Personal Information of 130 Mln Hotel Guests For Eight BTC

A Chinese hacker is reportedly selling the information about approximately 130 mln Huazhu Hotel Group clients (names, card numbers, addresses) on one of the dark web forums. In order to get access to more than 140 GB of leaked data, one has to pay eight BTC.

The authenticity of this leak has been verified by a crypto firm Threat Hunter, which claims that there is a very high probability that the information is indeed real.

Huazhu Hotels Group is currently investigating the case, urging everyone not to become engaged in such illicit activities.
