BitTorrent intends to start a long-term experiment of airdrops happening every month and lasting for several years.
BTT prepared to be airdropped
Out of 990 bln BTT tokens, 10.1 percent are meant to be given away in airdrops to encourage the investors of Tron’s new partner company.
Justin Sun suggests that BitTorrent and Tron should be regarded as a blade and a razor that will help build a new decentralized global economy. BTT, Tron’s CEO believes, will ensure innovative dApps will appear on the Internet and find their users.
As soon as a block height of 6.6 mln appears on the Tron chain, the company’s team will take a snapshot, and then the first pile of BTT set aside for an airdrop will be given away to all Tron holders. During the first twelve airdrops, 990 mln BTT will be spread around in promotional purposes. Each TRX holder will get 0.11 BTT for one TRX token next week, as per Binance.
No need to use crypto exchanges
Despite the fact that one of the exchanges that supports BTT airdrops is the well-known Binance, TRX users do not need to transfer their coins to this or any other platform, such as OKEx, Huobi, etc. There are two wallets – Tron Wallet and Trust Wallet – that have made it clear about supporting future BTT drops.
Tron plans to encourage its investors to actually hodl BTT by increasing the amount of airdrops five times each February until 2025, then these free giveaways will be over. However, some experts do not believe this will work, since the token’s value may fall much deeper than the value of BTT airdrops.
Still, experts believe that these airdrops, no matter how profitable they will be for users, will certainly be beneficial for Binance, adding to its trading volume and asset volatility, which is already quite high.
