Iranian-American entrepreneur and venture capitalist Shervin Pishevar is convinced that SpaceX and Bitcoin are the best multi-generation investments.
According to Pishevar, who was an early investor in such giants as Uber and Airbnb, these are the ‘two core systematic’ bets on the future of humanity.
Taking humans to Mars
In one of his interviews, American theoretical physicist and futurist Michio Kaku floated the idea of terraforming Mars so that it could be inhabitable for humans. As one of the possible solutions, he suggested melting the red planet’s ice caps to bring it back to its past lush state.
Elon Musk, the CEO of SpaceX and Tesla, has a grand plan to build a city on Mars and live there. The entrepreneur estimated that it could take up to 20 years.
If the eccentric billionaire succeeds with his space travel ambitions, he could potentially be viewed as a da Vinci-level personality in history books. Meanwhile, private investors in SpaceX will yield enormous returns.
Musk is not sold on Bitcoin
Musk, whose net worth is estimated to be $37.6 bln, has been sending mixed signals about Bitcoin and the cryptocurrency industry.
When he stepped into the breach to help Harry Potter author J. K. Rowling understand Bitcoin, the billionaire referred to it as ‘internet money’ that looked more solid when compared to fiat currencies that are being printed by central governments en masse.
Despite seeing crypto as a potential replacement for cash, Musk says that he only owns 0.25 BTC. He is hesitant to dip his toes into the technology since it is widely used by cybercriminals.
