In his recent tweets, the US President Trump has finally paid the global attention to Bitcoin and crypto, having arranged a ‘black PR’ campaign for them without even realizing it. He said that he is not a fan of Bitcoin and that BTC is not money, still, the head of Binance reckons that Mr Trump has done a favour to the crypto community.
Pretty good article. (Misspelled my last name in a few places, but I am pretty used to that.)https://t.co/nbKMfPfizU— CZ Binance (@cz_binance) July 23, 2019
‘Trump’s words about Bitcoin do not mean a thing, him tweeting about it – does’
In his interview to CNBC, CZ said that since Trump has said ‘he is not a fan of crypto’ cannot be harmful for the industry. However, the fact that he has brought up this topic to his Twitter page is certainly good since this raises the level of awareness for crypto.
Trump so far has not done anything positive or negative, he’s just said he’s not a fan. The fact that he tweeted about it, and the president of the United States is talking about cryptocurrency, it’s a good thing.
Trump gives Libra a kick too
Apart from crypto in general, in his earlier tweets, Donald Trump also spoke negatively about the recently announced by Facebook Libra Coin and pointed out that federal regulatory agencies must start dealing with the company and its crypto initiative.
Later on, David Marcus, the head of Facebook’s DLT division had an unsuccessful testimony in front of the US Senate, when speaking about Libra. This made the Bitcoin price drop last week and dip below the $10,000 level over the fear of increasing regulatory measures against cryptocurrencies.
Still, Binance’s CZ is positive that even if crypto is made illegal to hold in the US, it would not harm the industry. As per him, by banning crypto any country just makes its citizens to long for BTC much more.
